ABOUT THE MACIE JO FOUNDATION (MJF)

We’re changing the lives of children and families affected by hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) by funding impactful research, raising awareness, and supporting families through every step of their journey.

Every year, more than 1 million children worldwide are diagnosed with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy.

Hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy research remains consistently underfunded compared to other types of neurological conditions. As the largest independent charity dedicated to HIE research and family support in the U.S., we’ve developed our research grant program to make the greatest impact possible for these kids.

MJF has received top ratings from GuideStar based on effectiveness, accountability, and transparency.
